Pet Health Cost
I'd like to share a few tips that I found and think can help yousave money on your daily pet health cost.
- When you go shopping for your pet a toy a way to help pet health cost is to always compare prices. Before you pick up that cute little stuffed bear, check out that same bear at places like Wal Mart. Or even online at stores like DrsFosterSmith.com
.
- Skip the special pet bed. Pet beds
are ridiculously expensive and chances are, Fido doesn't know the difference if the pillow he's sleeping on has bone decorations on it. All pets care about is if the bed's comfortable and warm. Plus, many rip up their beds anyway (or in my dog's case, stink them up), so why drop $70 for a large pet pillow when you can get an equally large, cushiony human pillow at TJ Maxx or Marshall's for under $10. Comforters make great beds too and can be cut to fit the crate or bed. Outlet stores are a great place to find people bedding that your pet will adore.***z-topcontentad.shtml***
- Save on grooming and vet expenses by practicing preventative care. Brush your pet weekly and clip his/her nails yourself.

If you have trouble with the nails, ask a friend for help or ask your vet to show you how to do it. Reward your pet with a treat after clipping each nail. I use a piece of dog food. You can also bathe your pet yourself and save up to $100 that a groomer would charge. Discount pet shampoos are available online or on sale at the pet store.
- When it comes to chowing down, most pets aren't picky. So for treats, basic biscuits
do the trick and clean teeth because their hard surface scrapes teeth and gums when chewing. Forget the fancy new treat trends and the adorably packaged snacks. Your pet doesn't know the difference. Also, human food can be a great treat that's cheap or free. Just be sure to look it up online to make sure it's safe for your pet. When I have small pieces of fruit or vegetables left after eating, for instance, I give them to my dog as a treat. He particularly loves tomatoes and apples.
- Read your pet's food labels. Often times there's little to no difference between the store brand pet food

and the expensive brands that cost twice as much. If you do your research, you can save a big chunk of cash by buying a mid or economy brand that has the same nutrients (or more) as premium brands. (Note: Do not automatically grab the cheapest brand without reading the label. Some cheapies can be very unhealthy, just like some expensive ones can.)
